Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a multi-skilled technician to work within an expanding team at our Alnwick site.

An opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Technician, electrically biased, to join our Maintenance Team who are responsible for maintaining and operating the site utilities, plant equipment, and buildings.

 

The key tasks of the position are:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the scheduled    programme
  • Identify and perform any corrective and reactive maintenance, ensuring plant and equipment operates to its optimum
  • Operate the BMS control system to assess and interrogate plant and equipment performance.
  • Perform system shutdowns and isolations in accordance with a safe system of work
  • Ensure work is conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies/procedures and client requirements where appropriate
  • Work with due regard to health & safety of self & others
  • Monitor and supervise contractor personnel
  • Work flexibly across the site to meet business needs
  • Carry out general maintenance on HVAC, piped services and electrical systems
  • Test and inspection of electrical distribution boards
  • Portable appliance testing of electrical equipment
  • Participate in the out of hours callout rota.


The Candidate

You will be educated to a minimum of HNC (or equivalent), in an engineering discipline, electrically biased, and be able to demonstrate technical knowledge of building services and computer maintenance systems. Previous experience gained in a similar role would be advantageous, the Company will provide the relevant site specific training for candidates who do not possess all the necessary competencies. You should be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills and must be self-motivated.  A high level of personal integrity and commitment is essential, as is a flexible approach.
